Our History

The San Diego Repeater Association was founded in the 1960s by a group of amateur radio enthusiasts who recognized the need for reliable repeater infrastructure in the San Diego area. What started as a single repeater has grown into a network serving both San Diego and Imperial counties.

For over six decades, SANDRA has been at the forefront of amateur radio communications, providing open access repeaters that serve the ham community and support emergency communications when needed.

Today, we continue that tradition with modern digital and analog repeaters, a vibrant community of members, and a commitment to advancing the amateur radio hobby.
